Whip City Jerky is famous for its unique thin cut, and potato chip like crisp. You could say we break most of the rules compared to traditional thicker cut jerky’s. Most jerky is thicker and chewier. In addition it’s cheaper to make. Thicker jerky is better for business as the additional water content promotes heavier yields and greater profits. In other words, a thinner dry cut yields far less per pound of beef than a traditional cut jerky. While that requires a premium price, our customers prove time and again that amazing flavor, great quality, and being unique is well worth the premium. Folks often tell us, “this stuff is addictive” and that feedback is what drives us. We will always choose those qualities above greater profits.
